Dad of Boi a God of War review

"Dad of Boi"
So I just beat God of War. So how was it? If you've been a fan since 2005 then your initial reaction would be "It's different". A welcome change but different nonetheless.
I'm no journalist or reviewer so basically this is an input of long time fan.
God of War is known for its take on Greek Mythology but this time it traded Greek to Norse, so yes Odin and Thor is on this game (mentioned only).
Story is about Kratos and his fresh start on fatherhood, he kept his past from his son thus Atreus (the son also known as "BOI") doesn't know that his father was the God of War on a different world and that he (Atreus) is part god.
We have a different Kratos now, in 6 games he was an angry dude but this time he's more calm.
Combat and point of view is a farcry from the first 6 games. From a fixed camera perspective to a more free control camera. From birds eye view to a over the shoulder view. The combat is a bit odd when you're used to the previous games because instead of square and triangle as your light and heavy attacks, they changed it to R1 and R2 and you use X to dodge now and not the right stick. Combat is still fluid and satisfying, you get to throw your axe and recall it ala Thor's Mjolnir.
So is the game any good? Yes. Does it deserve the praises that it got? Absolutely. But is it the best game in the franchise? Now that's debatable. Is it the best game of all time? Not by a long shot, there are better games but this game is in the upper echelon of great games.
So the question now is, should you buy it? If you're a long time fan then absolutely. But if not then no, game is still expensive at its current price and don't ride the hype train. If you wanna play a game with great story and similar gameplay then I suggest you play the Witcher 3 (it's better).
Also, you could play this game even if you haven't played a single God of War game. Just saying.

The Last of Us (videogame review)

The Last of Us.
made by Naughty Dog

this game is just...wow. No word can describe how awesome this game, so awesome that it made me write my very own damn review right after I finished it with two solid playthroughs! Naughty Dog you damn bastards! you guys made another epic game!

I first saw The Last of Us back in 2011 and OH.MY.GOD! it blew my brains away! It's like Uncharted had a threesome with Resident Evil and I am Legend!

Naughty Dog is known for their happy platforming games such as Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Uncharted, this is the first time that Naughty Dog went a different direction. Survival Horror. Everyone were surprised that Naughty Dog can pull off a mature game, they raised the bar on Survival Horror that's for sure.

Enough about Naughty Dog and let's go to the game.

The Last of Us is a Survival Horror game made by Naughty Dog. The story revolves around Joel and Ellie, your typical Old man-young girl duo. The game starts with Joel twenty years prior to the main event, Joel living a normal life with his pre-teen daughter, Sarah, until one night the Pandemic happened. Spores mutating humans into zombie-like creatures. Joel and Sarah escaped the initial attack on their house thanks to Joel's brother Tom. The trio tried to escape town but the inevitable happened! TRAFFIC! so the trio turned their car around then BOOM a truck (or a car) smashed them, they survived. The trio went on foot instead but then gunned down by a soldier who had orders to kill anyone in the vicinity, Sarah did not make it. Fast-Forward to the main event. Joel now living a crappy life with his partner in crime Tess was tasked to escort a mysterious girl, Ellie. It was then found out the Ellie is immune to the spores thus making her a valuable asset on making a vaccine. As the game goes along Joel and Ellie's relationship grew from cold to warm. Joel learned how to care again. The story is so well written and well executed, it's so immersing and it makes you care about Joel and Ellie. It has a lot of WTF moments and twists. The story I give it a 10/10

The game play is great, it's like uncharted except you need to sneak the crap out of your enemies because bullets ain't common. The game makes the player think of strategic ways to get pass through enemy. It's not the run and gun play that we are used to with Uncharted but a sneaky Metal Gear Solid play. The stealth and survival game play is well executed so I give the gameplay 10/10.

Music. The music directs you to the right emotion to conjure, it's creepy really but an awesome feeling. 10/10

Graphics? Naughty Dog is well known for their Graphics and my goodness they delivered! Graphics are just wow, they sure made use of the hardware of the PS3. I love the fact that you can see if the characters are wet, like for example, Joel is on a knee deep river when he gets out the only wet part are those of his knees and below. awesome. Actually you can see that on Uncharted but damn I just love that. The Environment is superb, everything is so well detailed from rusty cars to mushy moss. Just wow. Graphics, I give it a 10/10

Overall the game is 10/10. Not being biased and all but the games is just really that good, I can't see any current survival horror games top The Last of Us, it sure set the bars high. This is how Survival Horror should be.
